My work with Elix from several years ago still stands out in my mind as one of my most memorable photoshoots.
Elix was all business the moment she walked through the door. I am used to a little bit of chit-chat before actually going through the particulars of a shoot. But she was straight to the point.
She was professional, courteous, and determined to get the right shot. I learned so much just by observing the way she worked and the way she thought about her posing and the light.
While it is great to learn from other photographers, sometimes you learn more from the people you work with. They can teach you so much more about how they interpret the light and how they interpret themselves in the photograph.
Sadly, she no longer models and has disappeared into the ether. But she certainly left a lasting impression with me, as I am sure she did with all those that photographed her during her career.
(Note: The vast majority of these photos are on film ... all except one. Can you guess which?)
